Karina Taira

A renowned name in the world of beauty photography and film-making, Karina has worked all over the globe for everyone from Dior to Diesel and Guerlain to Givenchy.

Her passion for photography started at a very young age, and she was working in labs by the age of 15, before working as a professional photographer at 19 years old. In1999, she produced and directed her first commercial. Two years later, two of her spots featured in the shortlist for the perfume category in Cannes.
Her work has an enigmatic sensuality with commercials evoking a powerful sense of place and passion. Whether it’s for perfume, cosmetics, luxury goods, cars or even fine chocolate, the purity and almost tactile quality of her aesthetic is evident in everything she shoots.
A graduate of the world-renowned Art Centre College in Pasadena, California, Karina has lived in London, Tokyo and LA but is nowadays based in Paris and New York, and travels frequently across the continents for her international assignments as director and photographer.
Karina joined Bandits as her home base production company in the summer of 2008.
